A Small Question

Issue:
Not exactly an issue, but I was wondering… My phone has lower Ram, A 2.0Ghz CPU but has a good GPU. My laptop is a more older one that has 8 RAM, and a better CPU but a very old integrated GPU. I was testing PPSSPP on both devices and my phone performed better, I could go upto 7x resolution without lag or stutter on my phone, while I could only go upto 3 to 4x Res on pc. So I was wondering if that would be the case with mobile Citra as well. Tl;Dr, is Citra performance more dependent on GPU or CPU?

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro (Laptop)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3340M @ 2.70 GHz
  • GPU: Intel HD 4000 w/ 32 MB Vram (yes, 32 MB)
  • Game: Most Citra games, looking to play Yokai Watch though.

Citra currently only runs well if your phone has Snapdragon. It will be slow if it’s Exynos or MediaTek. Download AIDA64 an check the CPU tab to see what you have. You also need 64-bit Android to even install Citra, if it says (32-bit mode) then you are out of luck.

Oof, my android is 64 bit but it’s Mediatek. So at this point of time development hasn’t made it so all phones can use the emulator to it’s fullest potential, is that right?
