Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy - corrupted effect sprites & textures

This game is fully playable in bleeding edge version only, main and nightly always hangs before mission start. Since bleeding-edge 90 (HEAD-b3c53b6) onward there’s major GUI texture and special effect sprite corruption (namely explosion effect, radar and HUD messages) both in HW and SW renderer. Bleeding edge build 86 (HEAD-e4d4956) shows no graphic bug however.

System Information

BE-86 was the last build to include Geometry Shaders, so I’m willing to bet that the issues you’ve mentioned are related to that.

Sounds about right, I believe BE versions after 86 had GS rendering removed, which broke some effects in some games. You can see gs-new-refactor is in the merge log here for 86, but isn’t for 190.

You can either just keep using that version, or wait for it to be added back.

Ah, that explains everything then.

Guess I’ll have to stick with the old build for a longer while.

bleeding-edge build 453 brought back geometry shader therefore this issue has been fixed.
