Any Version of Citra Crashes Immediately After Launch

Anytime I launch Citra nightly (and Canary) the app doesn’t even display. When I try to launch one of the other executables, like the one named ‘citra’, the console/command prompt window opens for a split second before exiting.

What I know:

  • I know ‘citra-qt’ launches because I can see it open for a split second in task manager
  • I’ve gotten the emulator to work before, and I even have games for it on my HDD
  • I have tried to install Citra on BOTH drives, my HDD and my SSD (M.2 SATA III)
  • I haven’t changed any hardware or have messed with files in the emulator’s directory
  • I have done 3 clean installs

  • Operating System: Windows 10, version 1903
  • CPU: Intel i3 8100
  • GPU: GTX 1060 MSI, single fan
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Nightly & Canary
  • Game: The Emulator itself
  • Screenshot of Issue (include the full Citra window including titlebar):

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

Just in case anyone else is having an issue with this:

It… was… Rivatuner Statistics Server.
You have got to be shitting me.
Disable that from startup (in task manager) if you have it installed, and you’re good.
That’s what the issue was for me.
