Black screen and Citra crash after installing CIA update (Pokemon X 1.5)

Issue:
Hey guys!

When installing a Pokemon X update with a .CIA, it shows as “ver. 1.5” on the icon, however, when running the emulation it turns all black and Citra freezes completely, have to exit program via task manager.

When right clicking Pokemon X, going to the update files location and deleting the “00000000.tmd” and “00000004.app” it works again.

Does anyone know why and how to fix this?

  • Operating System: W10
  • CPU: 5950X

  • Screenshot of Issue (include the full Citra window including titlebar):

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

I’ve updated to driver v471.11 (latest) and also tried turning off Accurate Multiplication.

To describe it more accurately, the crash:

  1. Run Citra
  2. Double click on Pokemon X
  3. Shaders etc start loading
  4. After finished loading, black screen
  5. Citra works, but after clicking anything in Citra it “stopped working”
