Black screen when I play pokemon x

Having the same issue. Started a new save and I can pick the language but the opening cutscene is black but I can hear the audio and interact with the game but just black screen. This is the log.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from Intel’s website. Support for Intel® Graphics

No game was booted in your log. If you are experiencing a crash then do not open citra again until after you posted the log as it gets purged when you reopen citra.

The log file is incomplete. Make sure you follow the steps carefully:

  1. Open Citra, then go to File>Open Citra Folder (Citra>Open Citra Folder if on MacOS) and open up the log folder. Now keep that open in the background.
  2. Launch your game and encounter the problem; crash/slowdown/glitch and close Citra if it doesn’t do so by itself. Do not restart Citra as that will wipe the log of important information!
  3. Now upload the log file in this chat.

When I opened the installer it said the driver was locked to the manufactures specifications. I then tired to update it through the device manager which said it worked but after a restart I still had the same issue.

This didn’t help. It gives the error message that It is locked to the manufacturer speficiations before it even gets to the install phase. I have an 8th generation processor and the latest version of Windows 10. I tired disconnecting the internet like it said but that didn’t help either. I even redownloaded it and it still didn’t work. Is there anything I’m missing or is it time to contact intel support?

Then we will need to manually downgrade to 6373 before you can install the latest.

  1. Make sure Windows is updated, you should be on like 21H2 or 22H2. You can check what you currently have by opening winver (just do a Windows search for it near the Start button at the bottom left corner of the screen).

  2. Download this driver: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28289/a08/win64_25.20.100.6373.zip

  3. Install 101.2114 that you downloaded earlier.

Yeah it’s annoying, one of the downsides by buying laptops (they’re always OEM). Doesn’t happen with desktop computers afaik.

It finally worked! Citra crashed on the first boot but after some testing it seems to work fine! Thank you so much!
