Bravely Default Cutom Textures Glitch

The problem:
Strangely whatever custom texture I use it seems to randomly render on every other 3D object.
Including some effects like fog and cloud shadows glitching out. It only happens while using custom textures even unmodified ones.
I’ve tried every single options provided by Citra.
The game runs smoothly and perfectly fine other than that.
(I do have the unscensored Japanese Version mod installed but I swear it was already happening before that already.

My PC’s specs:

  • Operating System: Windows 10 x64
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core 3.20 GHz
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 2 Go (Sadly)
  • Citra Version: Citra Nightly 1696
  • Game: Bravely Default (Europe)
  • Screenshot of Issue (include the full Citra window including titlebar):

Without Custom textures loaded:

With Custom Textures loaded: (Shadows messing up)

With Custom Textures loaded: Just look at him

Here’s my log file: citra_log.txt (47.4 KB) )

I hope you guys can Help. I really love making the main characters of the games look like my OCs by using this method I actually played through all of DQVII doing so and I modified almost all classes in that game, with no problems whatsoever.

Thank you for reading this, I hope I got everything needed.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

Just to give a description on what I tried. I tried turning off all settings as well as bringing the Resolution to native. It always happens.

It dosen’t seem to affect the worlds textures either 2D or 3D.

Edit: I tried with Bravely Second. Since these are pretty much the same graphically. And the same problem exists in it too. Although not being as violent since it only messes up menus and certain map effects yet again. I still got the main character to glitch as well but once in a cutscene.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

Disable your texture filter, then restart then emulation. See if the problem remains.

Damn it did ! Thank you so much !!!
I actually tried turning it off but I probably didn’t restart the emulator.
So the filter must confuse the placement of cutom textures.
It’s weird that only Bravely Default and Bravely Second do that. I never had the problem in any other game…
Anyway, thank very much !!!
