Bravely Default - Game hangs when swapping voice audio

Issue:
When swapping the Voice Option in the game settings from English to Japanese, and then exiting the menu, the game freezes and doesn’t fix. The audio still plays fine and Citra is still working but everything else is frozen.

For now you can change it using your 3DS then transfer the save back.

Is that the only solution, and if so is it possible to do that from my PC?

When I said “with your 3DS” I literally meant with your Nintendo 3DS which you should have already as you dumped Bravely Default with it, right?
