Cannot save game

After moving around some of my yokai watch roms when I load up the games the file save file says it is corrupted and even when loading an in-game save I cant save my game and instead its grayed out

Save states are not a replacement for in-game save files. Save States should only ever be used inside of a game sessions and not beyond it as they get very unstable across different Citra versions or when the save path they were in was changed. The log tells me that your save files came from a different Citra version than the one they are currently in so that is likely the problem. To prevent a loss of progress in the future, make sure to only use your in-game save files to save your progress and use save states only within the game session you created them in.

can i fix it if i load my game in a previous citra version or is my save data just gone

It’s possible yea. You’ll have to find the version among the ones listed here:
Or upload your Save State here (may have to upload it to something like google drive and then link it here) so I can take a look which version it might’ve come from.

It still says that the save data is corrupted, does that mean rip to my save data?

Did you use Citra Canary at any point?

I meant that you might’ve created your save state on an older Canary versions. The way I look for which version a save state is created on is by seeing what change was added in the version it was saved on. These changes apply to both canary and nightly. I simply posted the nightly version that the change was introduced in because your log file showed you were using nightly.

Try loading your save state on here and saving in-game. If that doesn’t work, then it’s likely your save data is indeed simply just corrupted.
