Can't open my saves after the update

Issue:
after i updated citra, my saves wouldn’t open anymore, but i could still open the game

Save states are not a replacement for in-game save files. They are more unstable and tend to break after repeated use or updates to Citra in the long run. They are only meant to be used within single gaming sessions, not beyond them.

If you didn’t save in-game until now (which again, is not a good thing), you can use an older Citra build to load the save state, and then save in game. This should allow you to carry along your progress to the latest Citra build(s). To do this:

Download citra-windows-mingw-20230110-ad2cbe2.7z from Release nightly-1827 · citra-emu/citra-nightly · GitHub
Extract using Winrar or 7zip, then launch citra-qt(.exe) from the extracted folder. Load your game, then load your save state and save in-game. Now you can delete this build and load your in-game save data on the latest Citra build.
