Cheat codes arent working ( pokemon alpha saphire)

So basically i have a cheat code activated so that pokemon in the wild will be shiny and inputted he code several times to make sure i didnt accidently put it in wrong, i tried to start it like it says to but nothing is happening. do i have a bad cheat code or am i doing somthing wrong?
