Issue:
Upon opening citra, prompted to share user data, respond yes/no. application stops responding for 3-10 seconds and closes.
Issue initially arose after updating from citra nightly 1988 into 1989, generated no log and issue began with seemingly no cause. Log provided generated after many attempts to reopen after trying to fix.
I have reinstalled multiple times, restarted computer, unplugged controller, closed all applications, removed from windows defender and deleted citra’s roaming folder, none of which fixed the issue.
In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File
This version runs without closing instantly, surprisingly. I haven’t testing running any games with it, but it did generate a log on startup. citra_log.txt (887 Bytes)
Doesn’t seem to say there’s any issues besides not being able to update, could this mean I have a problem with the 1989/1990 versions specifically, considering this version works?
No game was booted in your log. If you are experiencing a crash then do not open citra again until after you posted the log as it gets purged when you reopen citra.

Yes, we merged the Vulkan Graphics Backend in Citra Nightly 1989, which causes this issue for some users. The log file is incomplete, can you Open Citra, Start a game, close Citra and send both citra_log and citra_log_old?

Downloaded a fresh citra installer after backing up my current citra build.
downloaded citra nightly 1993, opened it, and it doesnt crash anymore, however i did get this popup upon opening:
Alright thanks for testing. This is the expected behavior for now. Instead of crashing when not a suitable Vulkan version is detected, Citra now displays a message that Vulkan initialization failed. It should work fine now.
