Citra config for a laptop 10 with Radeon vega?

Issue: Hello, I’m having a lot of troubles trying to run Citra, tried both Canary and Nightly but both let me run games only at 50 - 60% speed and that’s barely on the Intro screen :confused:
I don’t really know what to do, my knowledge about these matters is very basic :sweat:

System Information**

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500
  • GPU: Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Canary 1953
  • Game: Every game (specially Dragon Quest Terry’s Wonderland)

You can try enabling Hardware Shaders to see if that gives you more performance, but that option is always a bit of a hit or miss for AMD GPU users. In some games it boosts performance, in others it hampers it.
AMD’s OpenGL drivers on windows are just really bad, which is why Citra runs slowly on AMD GPUs. AMD’s linux OpenGL drivers are a lot better and you could easily see two to three times the performance you get on windows. So if you’re willing to go through the effort of dual booting linux, you might get a way better experience with Citra.

Dual booting Linux? I’m guessing that’s like… having 2 OS at the same time?
I could try… tho, wouldn’t that make my laptop slower overall? I’ve only got 128 SSD and 1TB HDD, what do you think? :sweat:
