Try the linked Nightly above first, extract it and navigate to the folder with the terminal. You should be able to start it by typing ./citra-qt
. If not you might need to chmod +x
it first and/or install missing dependencies.
oh hey, that worked! thanks!
Im having an issue when I change clothes or other scenes not really sure how to isolate it. Point is, it crashes a lot.

- Due to AMD’s poorly optimized OpenGL driver, you may experience slowdowns.
Yeah so what do I do?

Im trying again on the version you recommended.
You installed the wrong driver. Please go back to AMD’s site and download the optional 22.8.2 driver and install that. Citra requires the OpenGL fixes in this optional driver to function properly.

it doesn’t crash anymore but yes it does a lot of slowdowns and mini freeze. Nonetheless it is fixed tho as it is extremely playable now.
Try clearing the shader cache. Go to File>Open Citra Folder
, and open up the shader
folder. Delete the opengl
folder found here.
Tried clearing that too, but doesn’t do much. I found that turning hardware shader off removes the freezing and slowdowns but it has an fps drop which is fine tho as it still reaches around 45 fps when I am outside buildings and around 120 fps inside. This works only in the 2.8.2.2 driver in older ones, the fps drop is unplayable. Thanks for your help.
