Aften an update although game works normally, loading a save state causes emulator to crash

Friendly reminder that save states are not a replacement for in-game save files. Save states are meant to be used within single gaming sessions, and not beyond them.
Regardless, if you haven’t saved in-game up until this point (which, again, is really bad practice), you can load your save state on an older Citra build, then save in-game, and go back to the latest Citra builds to continue playing. This should be the Citra build that you need:
Download citra-windows-mingw-20230110-ad2cbe2.7z from Release nightly-1827 · citra-emu/citra-nightly · GitHub.
Extract it using Winrar or 7zip, then launch citra-qt(.exe) in the extracted folder. Load your save state, then save in-game. Now you can delete this build and continue on playing on the latest Citra versions.
