Issue:
When I try to load my previous saves the game just crashes, yesterday it was working just fine but after I’ve updated Citra today it started crashing. I could still play the game using the in game saving but loading the save through Citra was way more convenient sometimes. Is there anything I could do to fix it?

System Information
- Operating System: Windows 10

- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT710
- Citra Version (found in title bar): 1867
- Game: Pokemon Ultra Moon
Save states save the entirety of Citra’s emulation state, and as a result, new Citra updates that add new things to serialize in the emulation state will break the loading of save states that were created on prior Citra versions. Additionally, saving upon save state created progress will make the emulation state gradually more unstable. Since the emulation state never gets to clear out emulation bugs with a proper shut down. This is why in-game save files should be used most of all when saving and loading your progress. Save states should only be used within single gaming sessions, not beyond them.
Therefore, creating and loading a new save state should work just fine. Try it out. Just keep the above in mind for the future.
But creating new save files doesn’t work because when I try to load these new save files it crashes as well
Ah yes. We’ve managed to confirm the issue on our end. Seems like an issue that was introduced on the latest Nightly build. We’ve informed the developer responsible.

I have the same problem, today I updated Citra today and then it doesn’t work anymore. Maybe the oldest version works but I don’t know how to fix it. Please help me
having the same problem with Fire Emblem Fates.
loading any save state, old or new, crashes Citra.
doesn’t make the game unplayable luckily, but hope you guys fix.
same here even after reset setting
state loading still causing crashing even after update.
The latest Citra Nightly (1867/1868) appears to have a crashing issue with loading save states, as well as with crashing with certain titles. Please use a previous Nightly build (1866) for now:
Download citra-windows-mingw-20230326-9ef4204.7z
from Release nightly-1866 · citra-emu/citra-nightly · GitHub Extract it using winrar or 7zip. Then launch citra-qt(.exe) found inside of the extracted folder.
