Citra crashes when loading an edited Ultra Sun rom

Issue:
When i load the file containing my decrypted rom for Pokemon Ultra Sun which ive edited using pk3ds to change the starters (just to test that it works) citra immediately crashes before loading anything. It can load the unedited rom just fine and it runs fine too.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from NVIDIA’s website. Official Drivers | NVIDIA

Updated my drivers and it still crashes the exact same way and displays the same log as before from what I can tell. Here is the new log pretty sure the drivers arent the issue since it runs the unedited rom just fine.

No game was booted in your log. If you are experiencing a crash then do not open citra again until after you posted the log as it gets purged when you reopen citra.

I did not find anything wrong in your log file. Please wait for a human moderator to assist.

We’re not randomization support. If the base game runs fine, then the issue is not with Citra, it’s with the randomization.

On that note, try using this randomizer instead: Releases · Ajarmar/universal-pokemon-randomizer-zx · GitHub
It doesn’t require you to edit the ROM, as you can just create a layeredfs mod that you can chuck in Citra’s mods folder for your game. Which is a lot easier and has no risk of corrupting your ROM (also takes a lot less time than PK3DS). PK3DS has some options that this one doesn’t, but if it’s just randomizing your starters, it is able to do that.
