Citra crashing suddenly while on Pokemon Y

This happened at least three times in the game, basically when I was doing something, it could be anything, going into the pokemon center, finish battling a pokemon or just walking around, it suddenly stops working and the screen freezes.
Then when I minimize it, the screen turns all white and blank with nothing except for the tabs on the top row.
I had no way of saving the game in this situation and the only way I found to keep it working is to restart the game from the last place I saved or restart the whole Citra. It’s pretty annoying cause it’s practically impossible for me to save the game every single second, but if I don’t, there’s always a chance I lose my progress.
Someone please help, how can I prevent this from happening again…

This driver is out of date. To update, download and install igfx_win_100.9684.exe

Let us know if installing this driver directly fails. That would mean that your laptop’s manufacturer is disallowing you from updating it for dumb reasons. There’s a relatively easy way around that though.
