For testing, try create a new folder called user at ~/.local/share/citra-emu/ and see if that works. If it does there might be a problem with your settings or save files.

i tried creating the user folder .nope still crashing

so i rolled back my flapak version back to nightly 1594 and it works fine right now so im not gonna update till the problem is solved

Hm, the problem started with Nightly 1595? What command did you run to rollback btw?

I actually didnt check fully if the issue started with 1595 until now i just picked an old commit . the problem starts on version 1596 of nightly . 1595 is fine . the command I used is

//flatpak remote-info --log citra-nightly-origin org.citra.citra-nightly //

to show the commits and then

//sudo flatpak update --commit=</commit id> </remote id >

example

//sudo flatpak update --commit=a13c60246a60818b473f8f4c67215b606fb6699568854b1af42100b0b4c673c8 org.citra.citra-nightly

Does turning off Hardware Shader in newer versions fix the crashes? I seem to have similar problem but when I turn off this setting roms won’t crash. Since I am experiencing performance hit when disabling it I reverted to previous version the same way as above.

Hi, try this:

  1. Open Citra then go to File->Open Citra Folder
  2. Open shaders folder then delete the opengl folder if it is there.
  3. Emulation->Configure... then click on Graphics on the left
  4. Click on the Advanced tab and turn on Accurate Multiplication

The Disk Shader Cache currently has a bug when Accurate Multiplication is turned off causing it to load all shaders slowly from zero every time you start the game and makes the precompiled cache extrememly large + the RAM usage skyrockets until you crash.

The log file is incomplete. Make sure you follow the steps carefully:

  1. Open Citra, then go to File>Open Citra Folder and open up the log folder. Now keep that open in the background.
  2. Launch your game and encounter the problem; crash/slowdown/glitch and close citra if it doesn’t do so by itself. Do not restart citra as that will wipe the log of important information!
  3. Now upload the log file in this chat.

Hi Guys, I got the same problem as @gotzerbie
