Citra Crashing while playing game

Issue:
Enter a description of your issue here, in full detail.

My Citra Nightly 1723 emulator keeps crashing upon playing the game for a while. I have tried fidgeting hardware shaders, accurate multiplications, and Vsync options. I have tried Citra Nightly 1392 as suggested from previous threads on this site, but I still encounter the same problem.

Can someone resolve this issue?

System Information

  • CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz
  • GPU: GeForce 940M/PCIe/SSE2
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): as described.
  • Game: Pokemon X
  • Screenshot of Issue (include the full Citra window including titlebar): Can’t do this as the emulator already closed after several seconds. There is a citra-qt.exe popup loading bar saying “Hang on while windows reports problem to microsoft…”

  • Please enable the Vsync option if you are experiencing screen tearing.

I tried enabling Vsync and it crashes immediately.

Nightly 1392 is specifically for Intel HD 4000 users. Since you have GeForce 940M it won’t do the same for you.

Try download the latest drivers from Nvidia: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/180558/en-us then run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html run it in Safe Mode: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-10-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234) so you can get a clean install of the new drivers. If you still crash, maybe the game is corrupted somehow and you should redump it by following the guides below.
