Citra doesn't run any game after update

I had been using a previous build for some years until I decided to update some days ago. Now none of the games run, they stay frozen on the first frame at 0fps even after resetting the configuration to default. When prompted to update, the installer says it “cannot retrieve remote tree” so I can’t do that either.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from Intel’s website.
  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.

Also do this:

  1. File->Open Citra Folder
  2. Open shaders folder then delete the opengl folder
  3. Emulation->Configure... then click on Graphics on the left
  4. Click on the Advanced tab and turn on Accurate Multiplication

The Disk Shader Cache currently has a bug when Accurate Multiplication is turned off causing it to load all shaders from zero every time you start the game and makes the precompiled cache extrememly large + the RAM usage skyrockets until you crash.

Thank for the quick answer, will follow the instructions and come back to report how it went.

Additionally to this, I had to turn on Enable CPU JIT under the “Debug” tab in General settings for the games to run, otherwise the games got stuck in the first frame.

I don’t know why that is, but at least they are running now. Updating the drivers must have been the core of the issue.

Hello, the solution didn’t work for me since all my drivers are updated and I already have Enable CPU JIT enabled. My issue is that after an update (i don’t remember which) my citra has not been able to run my rom that has always worked before said update.

The log file is incomplete. Make sure you follow the steps carefully:

  1. Open Citra, then go to File>Open Citra Folder (Citra>Open Citra Folder if on MacOS) and open up the log folder. Now keep that open in the background.
  2. Launch your game and encounter the problem; crash/slowdown/glitch and close Citra if it doesn’t do so by itself. Do not restart Citra as that will wipe the log of important information!
  3. Now upload the log file in this chat.

AMD’s new GPU driver requires a workaround that is in only present in Citra Canary for now. Please use that in the meantime.
