Citra freezes and crashes when entering specific areas in SMT IV Apocalypse

Issue:

Games runs without any issues but in two areas the game freezes. The first area is in Shibuya, and it only freezes when entering a battle. The second area is in Ikebukuro. When entering Sunshine Front, game freezes preventing me to progress. Tried to change graphic settings but nothing changed.

The log file is incomplete. Make sure you follow the steps carefully:

  1. Open Citra, then go to File>Open Citra Folder and open up the log folder. Now keep that open in the background.
  2. Launch your game and encounter the problem; crash/slowdown/glitch and close citra if it doesn’t do so by itself. Do not restart citra as that will wipe the log of important information!
  3. Now upload the log file in this chat.

This is the log obtained by following the steps above, i am unable to upload it since the bot says it’s too big, so here’s the Google Drive’s link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qx2GUI9WPONakLF6Af6rFqNhC4y7sZVY/view?usp=sharing

Yep, I’m able to view the file.

There is a ton of unmapped read-write spam in your log file, which usually indicates Citra encountered corrupted files or bad cheat codes. Since you don’t seem to have any active cheats or an update file installed, there are three likely scenarios:

  • You installed a DLC without installing the game update, which sometimes causes this issue (in which case you just need to dump and install the update file).
  • The DLC files might be corrupted (if you dumped and installed it/them).
  • Your ROM is corrupted.

Whatever the case may be, you need to redump your files:
For Cartridges: Dumping Game Cartridges - Citra
For Installed Titles: Dumping Installed Titles - Citra
To dump DLC and Updates, use this guide Dumping Updates and DLCs - Citra and install the results through File → Install CIA…

Make sure your GM9 is updated to the latest version available and that you have enough free storage space available on your SD-Card to perform the dump(s).
