Citra gives low FPS

I have an HP Laptop with ryzen 5 2500U, i can play games like GTA V, Fortnite and more “heavy” gamers with no problem at least at 60fps, but when playing pokemon in Citra the fps go down like 14 or 15, i configured all the settings to low and watching recommendations on youtube about how to make it faster but nothing works, i need help please

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 2500U
  • GPU: Radeon Vega 8
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): 1695
  • Game: Every game Specially Pokemon

Those games don’t render on OpenGL. Citra uses OpenGL to accelerate emulation. However, AMD’s OpenGL drivers are a pile of poop, which is why it’s not recommended to use AMD GPUs with Citra.

Go to Emulation>Configuration>Graphics>Advanced Tab and enable Hardware Shaders → This option is a bit hit or miss with AMD GPUs. Sometimes it improves performance, sometimes is hampers it.

Make sure your laptop is set to high performance power settings and that you’re plugged into your loader.
