Citra keeps crashing when launching

Issue:
When launching, Citra will close after loading the game

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Due to AMD’s poorly optimized OpenGL driver, you may experience slowdowns.

Ensure you have the latest drivers by downloading AMD’s auto-detect tool: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-131 you might need to pick “Factory Reset” under additional options in the installer so you start with fresh drivers.

Also do this:

  1. Open Citra then go to File->Open Citra Folder
  2. Open shaders folder then delete the opengl folder if it is there.
  3. Emulation->Configure... then click on Graphics on the left
  4. Click on the Advanced tab and turn on Accurate Multiplication

The Disk Shader Cache currently has a bug when Accurate Multiplication is turned off causing it to load all shaders slowly from zero every time you start the game and makes the precompiled cache extrememly large + the RAM usage skyrockets until you crash.

Did both of those and now it just doesn’t load the shaders and gives a fatal error (and it doesn’t recreate the opengl folder)

Ok you have a lot of memory read/write errors which is usually a sign of a corrupted rom or update if you aren’t using cheat codes.

Try redump the game and maybe even the update using the guides below. Have at least 2GB free space on your Nintendo 3DS’s SD card:



It seems you didn’t enable Accurate Multiplication in the Advanced graphics options yet in Citra to prevent the Disk Shader Cache bug. Redo the additional steps from my first post (step 1-4).

Thanks for helping, I fixed it by just installing a different version of the game instead
