Citra randomly crashing - Majora's Mask - have used search

Issue:
Citra is randomly crashing. I cannot reproduce other than to simply play, I cannot find a trigger. I have searched forums and tried several recommendations from posts with similar issues, and I think I just need to ask the experts.

I am only playing Majora’s Mask. I have tried using both .3ds and .cia versions. I have been able to progress by continually saving ingame. At one point I did use a Save State once to test it out, but have used the in-game save feature entirely other than that. I have hesitated to make a new game to start over and not use a Save State in that save game if that could be the issue. I’d like confirmation first before I do that.

I disabled Hardware Shader in Graphics/Advanced per the recommendations on the Citra compatibility page for the game. I also tried launching Citra in Administrator mode. Nothing prevents it from crashing. I ensured I have no overclocks in place on either CPU, GPU, or RAM, still crashing.

I followed the steps recommended to produce the crash log for the most recent crash and did not reopen Citra before getting the log file.

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 11
  • CPU: 9900k
  • GPU: 3090
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): 1754
  • Game: Majora’s Mark
  • Screenshot of Issue (include the full Citra window including titlebar): I did not get a screenshot - screen just freezes wherever I am in the game at the time, but audio continues to play. Per the sounds, I am still able to move and the game is progressing, but video is frozen. Then app goes Not Responsive, then white, then Windows submits a crash report, and Citra CTD.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.
  • Please enable the Vsync option if you are experiencing screen tearing.

Looks like a bad dump to me. You’ll need to redump your game. Please refer to our game dumping guides:

Dumping Game Cartridges
Dumping Installed Titles

Make sure your GM9 is up to date and that you have enough free storage space available on your SD-Card to perform the dump.
