Citra randomly freezes or crashes during gameplay

Sometimes the game randomly freezes when I’m playing it. It doesn’t freeze audio most of the time, but always the screen. Sometimes it crashes other times it just freezes.

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 6300U
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 520
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Canary 1959
  • Game: Pokémon Sun (Happens with any game)
  • Screenshot of Issue (include the full Citra window including titlebar): It just runs at 0 fps and 0 speed.

I did not find anything wrong in your log file. Please wait for a moderator to assist.

It seems you accidentally reopened Citra before uploading citra_log.txt which would clear the log. Redo the steps to get a new log and make sure you have started the game before you close Citra.

There is also an “old log” that you can upload.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Please enable the Vsync option if you are experiencing screen tearing.

Update the drivers: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30381/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers
Make sure Windows 10 is also updated, you should be on 20H2.

Enable Shader JIT as well in the advanced graphics settings in Citra configuration.
