Citra shows black screen after starting game, game is still running and audio works

Issue:
When I start a game, pokemon y in this case, the screen turns black after I leave the title screen. There’s a little lag period and then the audio starts again and I know the game continues because I can hear sounds when I press keys.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from Intel’s website. Support for Intel® Graphics

Updating the driver for the graphic card worked, for a while, but the same problem is happening again now.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from Intel’s website. Support for Intel® Graphics

Windows rolled back your update. There’s a tool that’ll allow you to disallow Windows from doing so: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/show-hide-updates-tool-wushowhide-diagcab
direct download: https://web.archive.org/web/20190208013517/https:/download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f22d5fdb-59cd-4275-8c95-1be17bf70b21/wushowhide.diagcab

Install the new driver, then run that tool. It should give you the option of disabling the automatic update for your GPU driver.

Thanks for the reply! I reinstalled the update but this time I did not do a clean installation but a regular one. That seems to have solved the problem. If it happens again I’ll try the tool you suggested.
