Citra stops responding and crashes

Issue:
In both Citra Canary and Nightly, whenever i try to open a game, it’ll stop responding and closes. The log file is completely blank after the crash. It has been doing this for a couple days.

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • CPU: i5-4590
  • GPU: GTX 1070
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Nightly:800 | Canary:643
  • Game: Pokemon Moon, Pokemon Ultra Sun, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

I have the same problem, citra crashes right after I try to start any games, the log file is always empty because the game just fails to launch.

@Donkition @MW149 If the log is empty, try restarting your PC. It’s hard to find the issue without the log file.

My PC has been on and off multiple times since it started, and it’s happen with every build that’s been released starting earlier this week. I’ve reinstalled Citra entirely also. Someone with a similar issue mentioned changing the information back on the system tab, but I have changed mine back to what I think it was before whatever update reverted it.

@CitraBot mine has been doing the same thing.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You have GDB debugging enabled. This will cause Citra not to launch games. This is only intended for debugging purposes and should be disabled in settings.

@CitraBot how about now?
