Citra stops responding while still allowing controls and playing audio

Issue:
Citra loads Fire Emblem Fates (special edition) and then the program window stops responding while the game audio keeps playing normally. I have a controller plugged in and can still control the game (I can hear menus being selected) but the window itself greys out and stops responding. It used to work just earlier today and I’m not sure what would have caused this to start occurring
.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You have cheats enabled. This might cause weird behaviour or crashes. Please disable them and retest if your game is experiencing bugs or crashes.

Disable cheats, then restart Citra (important, otherwise they remain active). If the issue still occurs, upload another log file.

I disabled the cheats and it’s still happening

These might indicate that some of your nand files are corrupted:

To test this out, go to File>Open Citra Folder and rename the nand folder to nand edit. Now restart Citra and see if the problem remains. If it does, please upload another log file.

I changed the folder name to nand edit, the problem is persisting.

You do have a bunch of “reading from out of bounds” errors in your log file. Which may indicate a faulty ROM. Please refer to our game dumping guides:

Dumping Game Cartridges
Dumping Installed Titles

Make sure your GM9 is up to date and that you have enough free storage space available on your SD-Card to perform the dump.
