Citra will not open upon a new install

Issue:
Citra just shows a command box then closes

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 530
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): can’t tell as it refuses to load up but should be the latest one
  • Game: Never got to book a game
  • Screenshot of Issue (include the full Citra window including titlebar): Can’t even load it

Make sure that you’re launching citra-qt(.exe), not citra(.exe). The latter is for use with command lines only.

Turns out it was a cpu issue as my cpu was struggling with so many programs open
but now runs fine
