Does running Citra as an administrator help at all? If you perhaps use the same anti-malware software across both systems, it might be incorrectly flagging Citra, causing it to not launch. Try adding an exception to it for citra-qt.exe if so.

like I said on my post. I have run citra-qt as administrator as well and try compatibility set to win7/8 too, and it didnt help at all.
No. the only antivirus on both my pc and gpd win max is defender (no anti malware, I hate those as it seems to be more trouble than safe). And I have tried to disable it too.
I dont think I need to add exception if I have disabled it, and defender is pretty much lenient/non existent compared to other antivirus

oh. and I have run the dism command that I found somewhere on citra forum (from googling) on my gpd win max, and it didnt help too. Havent run it on my pc though as it didnt help on the win max.

I asked another support member what their take on it was. They said that you should try scanning for malware as that apparently could also cause the same error. It would also explain why the problem might be occuring on both devices (if you transfered files between the systems at some point for example).

You could also check your RAM functionality using Windows Memory Diagnostic (type it in your search bar and run it).

Hopefully the steps above lead to something. If not, I’m out of ideas. I’ll let you know if I can think of something else.

I’ll try to do ur suggestion. I’ll be back with the result tomorrow.as now is late night already here.
thx very much

windows memory diagnostics not really help, but after installing avast and run the first scan (it didnt found anything though), and restarting, the citra now want to open

but it always then crash again when I loading any of my 3ds file

it was on my gpd win max.
on my pc, still the same like yesterday, citra will open, but close after a few seconds or on any click.
this is very weird as yuzu runs perfectly on both.

Make sure to select to do a “Clean installation” if it gives you the option for it.

As for your crash on your desktop, I’m afraid this is beyond my ability to help you with. I’ll try asking if someone else has any idea on how to help you with that.

To be clear, is this the event viewer log for your GPD Win Max? Or your main PC?

it was event log on my pc.sorry to be not very clear.

btw I tried to update the driver. and then tried citra again
I got to loading the game but when the game starting, it was then forced close again. yeah it was like it was forced close in the middle by some antivirus. But I swear that I have tried disable all my antivirus and firewall (I only have defender anyway, I have uninstalled the avast) and it didnt have any effect

so here,s the log and event viewer from my gpd win max

an update for this error.

This morning I uninstalled Roblox from my GPD Win Max, and VOILA… citra can run again. I can choose more 3ds files, and play it just fine. I havent tried for long though, only 5-10 mins, but it’s definitely playable compared to before when it always crashed when just opening citra.

With high hope, I tried uninstalling roblox on my pc too, but nope, Citra still crashed.
but wait, later after restarting the pc I tried again, and VOILA, now it can play citra just fine too.

So, at this point, I’d say Roblox was the culprit. I dont know why, I dont even open Roblox when I tried Citra before. It’s very rarely opened, but somehow it interrupted and make citra crash everytime.

So, for people that experienced the same thing as me, remember to try to uninstall roblox too and restart after that. It might help.

so, case closed. Cheers.

This has to be the weirdest thing I’ve heard that has conflicts with Citra. I know for a fact that other users that have it installed don’t have this issue. Oh well, if it works now it’s all good I guess.
