Crashes when starting game (Fire Emblem Fates)

Issue:

I get through the opening credits and menu just perfectly. As soon as I select New Game and am about to start, it crashes consistently. I’m not very computer literate so I apologize in advance for any mistakes I make in relaying details.

System Information

  • Operating System: macOS Mojave Version 10.14.6
  • CPU: 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Citra Nightly 1696
  • Game: Fire Emblem Fates - Special Edition (EUR) (En,Fr,De,Es,It).3ds

MacOS seems to have issues with some of the recent changes made in Citra. Perhaps your issue is related to that. Please try out this older Citra version to test this:
Download citra-osx-20200707-bd7ee8c.tar.gz from Release nightly-1587: Common: remove a mod from AlignUp (#5441) · citra-emu/citra-nightly · GitHub
Extract it and then run the citra-qt executable found inside of the extracted folder.
It should load your configuration settings and game save files just like your regular Citra version.

I’ve gotten past where I had gotten before. I’ll let you know if it starts crashing somewhere again. Thanks once again for your solution!
