Fire Emblem Awakening Crash when entering barracks or using seal

Issue:
The game was working fine until I updated the client to the newest version. Whenever I would choose to enter the barracks or use a Master Seal on someone it would crash on me.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Due to AMD’s poorly optimized OpenGL driver, you may experience slowdowns.
  • You have cheats enabled. This might cause weird behaviour or crashes. Please disable them and retest if your game is experiencing bugs or crashes.

The cheat I have installed is the 2x animation speed to let it run smoother (004BDEFC 00000001). I hope this piece of information helps!

Please update to the latest GPU drivers available for your GPU: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-r9-series/amd-radeon-r9-200-series/amd-radeon-r9-280

Additionally, please disable your cheat and restart the emulation (important, otherwise they remain active). It’s not too important what the cheats are for. It’s a memory inject, so any bit injected in the wrong bit of memory can cause weird issues, so we generally tell users to not use them whilst troubleshooting. Just to rule out any possible variables.

I also followed your instructions on disabling my cheat then restarting the emulator. Double checked to see if the cheat was still running but sadly no luck. Nightly 1781 runs the game with no issues so i have decided to downgrade for the time being.

  • Due to AMD’s poorly optimized OpenGL driver, you may experience slowdowns.

The driver you currently have installed is from 2021. The driver I linked for you (from AMD’s own website) is from 2022. Driver software tend to not give you the latest driver, rather they give you the most tested driver, which tends to be older.
