Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia "After downloading the DLC, I'm not able to save state as it says 'unregistered class'"

Issue:
After I downloaded the DLC for FE Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and doing the Cipher Legends, it wouldn’t allow me to save state my game. It would just tell me “Unregistered Class-Derived Class not registered or exported.”

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Due to AMD’s poorly optimized OpenGL driver, you may experience slowdowns.
  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.

Okay so I took out the DLC, and even still it won’t let me save state. Not sure what to do.

Did you dump your DLC from your 3DS?

No, I downloaded the DLC from a mega-thread.

Stop pirating and dump games you actually own from your 3DS. Downloading them from shady websites is illegal, not supported of course and those files tend to be broken.

great, so if we’re all done castigating the OP for his sins, is there any chance of getting the actual issue here solved? you can imagine how thrilled i was to google the error message i got, found this thread detailing the precise situation i was in, aaaaand then there not being any solutions anywhere.

We obviously can’t help criminals. Posting potential solutions to the problem here would be exactly that.

Besides, the most likely problem is the fact that they pirated in the first place. If they had dumped their own DLC files properly to begin with, this likely wouldn’t have happened.

If you want some help with that, personally I loaded a state from before downloading the DLC, and just deleting the entirety of the DLC from Citra. (Likely my own fault for doing this in the first place). From there I was able to save state normally. You may lose a bit of progress in-game but it’s better than not being able to save state in the long term.

No, I don’t think I will. Our community guidelines are also very clear on this. In fact, following the policy listed there, banning them immediately and closing the thread are the expected actions I should’ve taken.
