FPS ISSUE (can't go above 100%)

Hey guys,
i am new here, i downloaded the new nightly build of citra. I removed the limit speed percentage from graphic tab from configure…
But game still don’t go above 100% fps.
V-sync is on
and don’t have any third party app for measuring fps

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • CPU: intel core i5 8400
  • GPU: nvidia gtx 1060 (3gb)
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Head-50def5a
  • Game: Pokemon Ultra sun

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

V-Sync = synchronize the FPS output with the monitor refreshrate.
You are capping your framerate with V-Sync, turn it off.

tried but its still the same

Seems like you are limiting the framerate. Turn off all 3rd party GL hooks, such as MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner or Dxtory and make sure that you don’t limit the FPS in Nvidia’s control panel.

every 3rd party GL hooks are off(or not installed)
and there is no limit in control panel

So V-Sync under Nvidia’s control panel is off or 3D app managed?
Not on or adaptive and Citra’s V-Sync and Speed-Limit checkbox is also off?

Your FPS must go up then.

not working still v-sync off and speed limit is also off

guys i tried the build head-72f9142
and it is going above 100%

As you can see i guess its Head-50def5a build problem

Yes, I can confirm it Nightly 716/Head-50deF5a caps at fullspeed and the speedlimitier can’t go above the fullspeed cap but works for framerates under it.
The newest Canary caps also at fullspeed.

Welp time to bug the dev’s in discord now. :stuck_out_tongue:

No, it was a false alarm from my side.
Newest Canary and also Nightly 716/Head-50def5a works fine for me.

but why i didnt work for me

It sounds funny.

You could try again and also download the newest Canary and test that one and what behavior you see.
The most comfortable way is to use the installer and then install both or after with Citra --> Help --> modify Citra install —> add components.
Then you have Nightly and Canary simultaneously on your computer and both versions are sharing one user folder.
So all your settings, games, saves, etc. are shared accross both versions.

Good for testing between both channels.

just tested canary build
when v-sync is off it is getting over 100% (300% in my pc)
dont know why nightly one don’t :confused:

It sounds weird that older Nightly builds and the newest Canary builds work for you and only the newest Nightly build is broken for you.
I have no idea how you could further troubleshoot your issue other than testing older Nightly builds till the point where it works.

But as it stands just use Canary and maybe the Nigthly channel will be fixed for you with upcoming updates.
