Freezing in pokémon sun

Issue:
When playing the game, randomly the game freezes anywhere, but i can still hear the sound of the game and it still playable was if it wasn’t freezed.
i don’t know how to explain better than that, but the game runs normally in 100% speed.
As you can see in the photo, the game is frozen but i still can play, even managed to save the game before close it.

System Information

  • Operating System: windows 10 pro
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-7200 CPU 2.50GHZ 2.70GH UP TO 3.1GHZ
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 620, up to 2110MB Dynamic Video Memory
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): HEAD-33e81ef (any version with the GPU thing but the one i’m use is this)
  • Game: pokémon sun

i have problem same you, not sun, every game in new citra have problem like that , i want fix this too

GPU is currently unstable. It’s still WIP & has a few bugs. You can switch to CPU & play just fine.

yeah, i know i can switch to CPU, but my cpu doesn’t run it at 100% of it velocity.
It runs at 66% or almost that.

? I don’t see what multi-threading had to do with this

so? They’re talking about game speed not CPU utilization.

Anyways, the answer is that Citra is not optimized yet, and most games don’t run at full speed, even on the most powerful hardware. You will have to wait for optimisations.

i got this error as well, but i don’t think is the cause of the freezing, i experienced it in Ultra Sun as well, but it never froze the game, i can play it with occasional 1/2 second slowdowns probably cause my cpu is kinda weak but i would like to know what the error stands for, probably just a warning though for unfinished stuff.

Not only you. I’ve had that problem as well. When I’ve speak to Nurse Joy or to Delivery Man for Mystery Gift, screen froze, but music keep going. I don’t know what cause this problem, but I think is that continuous uploading of Citra 16-12 I’ve downloaded Decenber 12, 2017. This problem started a 2 days ago, when I’ve decide restart a Pokemon Sun. It was fine, until a step after talking with Lillie in Pokemon Center. This problem happened on Pokemon Moon as well.

That version of Citra does not appear to be official. We only support official builds downloaded from the the official site, preferably recent ones. I suggest you open a new thread and fill out the support template.
