Gone for 3 weeks, Citra doesn't work anymore

#1

So I’ve just been on a vacation for 3 weeks. Arrived home this afternoon, wanted to play some Pokémon again, and Citra just crashes when I load the ROM.
Before I could play without a problem. I’ve got a NAND and everything.

Error says it is encrypted all of the sudden…
“Service.FS core/file_sys/ncch_container.cpp:Load:178: ExHeader Program ID mismatch: the ROM is probably encrypted.”

So could anyone please help me?
Should I decrypt it again? Or is all my progress lost then?

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

#3

post the whole log file along with citra build and the game you are trying to load.

#4

Alright,

Log:
citra_log.txt (3.7 KB)

Game:
Pokémon Moon.

Build:
I’ve got the latest build (up to now) and I always update Citra if asked.

#5

Yeah, the ROM being encrypted seems pretty likely.

No, decrypting a ROM will never make you lose your save data.

#6

Alright thanks,
Guess I’ll be dusting off my 3ds again.

Quick question: Could you provide a link (or tell me) that tells you how to move/remove a save game from Citra?

To backup any potential save games, backup the folders extdata and title on:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Citra\sdmc\Nintendo 3DS\00000000000000000000000000000000\00000000000000000000000000000000

Some explanation, some saves data (e.g: MH games) and things like screenshots and etc are located on \extdata\00000000\

Most save games are located on \title\00040000\
