Having problems trying to trade Pokémon with myself in ORAS

Issue:
I’m playing Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and I want to get pokémon only available on Omega Ruby. I checked a youtube tutorial and did all of it right, but I can’t connect to the room my other self created. It constantly says there’s a host error no matter what I do.
Here’s the video I was following:

  • Operating System: Windows 10, 64 bits
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 710
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Nightly 1611
  • Game: Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby

Download a standalone build by clicking on “Manual download” at the download page. Then extract it somewhere on your computer unrelated to your main Citra installation, e.g C:\testfolder then create a new folder called user where its citra-qt.exe is at. You need to do this in order to have different console IDs.

To connect the second Citra to the first, use the IP: 127.0.0.1
