Try run at 1x 240p resolution. If that doesn’t help then unfortunately you will have to upgrade your computer; it’s slow by 2022(soon 2023) standards.

Thanks for answering,
Ok, but I played pokemon x on another lower end laptop like this one before and it ran at a playable frame rate(better than what I’m seeing now).
Just that the laptop was using Intel HD graphics but my present laptop is using Radeon r4

Yeah, old Radeon stuff have poor OpenGL performance. AMD did make better drivers but they aren’t compatible with your hardware (need like RX 580, RX 5000/6000/7000 series).

It might be better on Linux but if you aren’t comfortable switching from Windows then don’t do it; better invest in a new computer and use this old one for taking notes at school etc.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hmm that’s weird the Radeon laptop has OPENGL 4.5 version while the Intel laptop has OPENGL 3.3 version but citra plays better on the intel version with lower OpenGL, don’t really get why

You can read notes here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-22-7-1 regarding OpenGL® Optimizations. You can also read other articles online regarding 22.7.1

Their goal was to optimize for Minecraft, luckily for us it made other applications faster too that use OpenGL.

Too bad AMD made your GPU the cut-off point, so latest is 22.6.1 :frowning: Your GPU is now considered legacy and won’t receive anymore updates from AMD.

That’s sad to hear,
Thank you for everything
