Either on using the in-game local wifi trading by connecting with someone on the multiplayer lobby or by trading with yourself, like this:
You need two citra instances, duplicate your citra folder (the one where citra-qt.exe resides) and inside this second folder, create a folder named user and inside this user folder copy&paste the contents of C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\citra\.
so that this second citra folder can have its own files, now just regenerate your console id on your second citra folder on Emulation > Configure > System.
Now create a room with one citra instance and connect with the other via Multiplayer > Dir…
Yes you can though there are 2 possibilities.
For gen 6:
Actually, I think you can trade between the two since they are of the same gen. I would say give it a try. Steps:
Open 2 instances of Citra and log in via 2 different Citra account tokens. You can do this by going to Emulation>Configure>General>Web then enter the tokens.
On one of them(or both) change the console ID by goin to system rather than general.
Now from one of them create a room by going to Multiplayer>Create room
From the other, go to Multiplayer>Direct Connect to room then enter 12…
For gen 7 since quicklink requires touching both devices I recommend using festival plaza:
In order to solve this try direct connect to room option with IP. If you have done rest go to step 3 directly.
So first of all make 2 citra accounts.
Then open 2 instances of citra.
Now in one of the instances go to emulation>configure>system and click on regenerate beside console id. This is required as a room cannot have 2 users with same console id. Then go to web and login with the token of your second id in this instance.
