How to update citra canary in linux if it is compiled?

This is more of a question though: i recently compiled citra from source code in linux, Now being the rolling release guy i am, I checked it’s version and it’s version number was from January 19th. I checked the github repository and I found out it was not the latest version. How do I update citra if I built it from source code???

System: Xubuntu 18.04(Bionic)

P.S : If anyone’s wondering why I built it from source, I first tried the flatpak method but it failed saying ‘kde wasn’t installed’

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

if you its either nightly or canary, fetch and build?! you can always download manually, extract and replace.

To where, I tried ,still doesn’t work; why isn’t there a ppa for citra yet??

I think a good method would be to use git pull, assuming you used git clone in the first place. You’ll have to rebuild/recompile the new version every time you update though. I don’t know if that would have an effect on on your game saves though.

The flatpak method is the only officially supported way of installing.
