Layton vs Phoenix and Ultra Sun problems

**Hello, I’m a noob who recently downloaded Citra. I can get it to work, but not the games

I downloaded a decrypted 3ds file of Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, which I tried to play right away. The game booted fine, but there is no Image. I can hear music and my mouse can interact with the touch screen, but both screens are pitch-black.

The Pokemon game was decrypted, but it was a CIA file or something. I found a converter to convert it to 3ds. The end problem was even worst. The screens were gray instead of black and I couldn’t even interact with the touch screen somehow. Music was still playing, though.

Anyway, I have no Idea how to fix this. I’m not that much in an urge to play pokemon, but I really want to play Layton vs Phoenix so if you could at least help with the latter, It’d be great.**:

I have no idea if I done that one correctly.

I did not find anything wrong in your log file. Please wait for a moderator to assist.

Downloading decrypted ROMs online is a bad idea. You need to own the games and dump them yourself from the actual cartridges, it’s the best way to avoid any potential issues. A guide on how to do this can be found in the FAQ.

I think it goes without saying that I don’t own any of the two. I mean, why would I want to go over the trouble of dumping a game that I already own on a perfectly functional 3ds?

I want to keep my money for Switch games, hence why I’m trying to play on emulator. I don’t want to invest on my 3ds anymore.

Citra doesn’t support piracy. If you have downloaded ROMs, or system files, even if you legitimately own them, it’s piracy, and that makes you ineligible for support. Hope you understand.

Emulators have always been about piracy (Mod Edit: snipped), but I guess you can’t legally admit that without having your work taken down. I just don’t get the point of an Emulator if you must have the real thing to make it work. Might as well play it on 3ds, no?

If you’re not going to reply to this, you can close this trend. I wish you success in your work.

you’re not a moderator, but speak like a moderator. So indeed what you can do?

Exactly. It’s for the legal safety of the project. Personal opinions don’t matter.

I can’t help my style of speaking, mate. :stuck_out_tongue:
I can just follow the rules & help the community as much as I can. Who says only mods can help?
(Also I’ve got into trouble for exactly what you said previously)

Play the games that you own in higher resolution. Reduce the wear and tear on your system. Also please do not refer to piracy sites.
