Low FPS and characters who don't appear 'Professor Layton VS Phoenix Wright : Ace Attorney'

Issue:
Well, everything is the name. I saw a couple of users who had the FPS problem so I tried their solution but I still have it. The game is at around 40% / 30 FPS. However, sometimes it goes up to 90% / 55 FPS for no reasons and goes down after. The first time I ran the game, I used the canary version and the framerate was even worse. Plus, the music is also distorded.

Also, the characters who speak on the screen don’t appear (on the screenshot I sent, you can see inspecter Chemey saying something, he should be on the screen but he is not there). During the first test with the canary version, the characters did appear

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from AMD’s website. https://www.amd.com/en/support
  • The CPU Clock percentage is not 100%. You may experience unexpected game speed.

I updated the drivers and Citra (from 1981 to 1982) but it still be unplayable. Somehow, I find it even worse than before…

Install the latest Citra Canary build and then go to Emulation>Configure>Graphics>Advanced Tab and switch the Graphics API to Vulkan. That should improve your performance massively already.

Also, set your CPU Clock Speed slider back to 100% in Emulation>Configure>General>Debug Tab. You shouldn’t be touching that unless you know what you’re doing. It’s in Debug for a reason.

same issue here ! try to install updated driver, to install citra canari, to launch game with OpenGL, vulkan an sowtfare…

Result :

  • with software and Opengl, citra canary and nightly : FPS ok but characher don’t appear
  • with Vulkan - citra nightly and canari just crash…

don’t try CPU clock because i don’t what i’m a doing with clockspeed…

No game was booted in your log. If you are experiencing a crash then do not open citra again until after you posted the log as it gets purged when you reopen citra.
