Meaning behind citra versions

why is citra nightly and canary doesnt have a pattern of versions? for example 1.1, 1.2 etc.?

because citra hasn’t been officially released yet

Citra is officially released. It’s just that we don’t number each release. Those version numbers are usually for milestones. If software development is fast, users would just use the latest nightly release. I doubt any Dolphin users still use 5.0 since it’s almost 2 years old. Citra gets updated frequently so numbered releases would probably become outdated quickly.

There have been unofficial talks of doing it for a long time though. It’s just that figuring out when would be a good starting starting point for 1.0.

citra should be at least 1.0 by because it is much more stable than last year
