Do you only have integrated graphics or also a graphics card? If you are unsure, go to Device Manager then expand the Display adapters category.

I only use integrated graphics atm but it hasn’t been a problem for me with emulators except for this one.

GPU Driver Version: 20.19.15.4835

This driver is outdated, you will need to update it.

Download win64_15.40.5171.zip from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30196/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-40-
direct link: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/30196/a08/win64_15.40.5171.zip

then follow this guide to install it: https://www.howtogeek.com/343287/how-to-fix-the-driver-being-installed-is-not-validated-for-this-computer-on-intel-computers/

Since your iGPU has driver bugs, you may also need to turn off Accurate Multiplication in the Advanced graphics settings in Citra configuration.

You might encounter an issue where the screen freezes but you still hear sound which might be due to the “AMD hack” removal for non AMD GPUs. It might work on latest if you turn off Hardware Shader.

You can try Nightly 860 if you get the freezing issue where this hack was still enabled for Intel iGPUs: https://github.com/citra-emu/citra-nightly/releases/tag/nightly-860.

Otherwise you will need to try find an Nvidia graphics card for best performance. Prices are going down last time I heard so maybe you can snag something up in the near future.

Will definitely try this all out and see if it works. Thank you very much for the help, much appreciated.

So I updated my drivers and I also replaced my latest citra nightly with the nightly 860 that you recommended. When I opened Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, it didn’t freeze but instead just outright exited the citra nightly itself. So I’m guessing the only way to fix this is if I buy an Nvidia graphics card?

Hm, make sure is_new3ds is set to false in the config file. Or you can turn it off in the System tab on the newer Citra version. Then try 860 again.

Where can I find the config file for the 860? I tried turning it off in the System tab on the new Citra version and then go back to 860 but it didn’t seem to do anything.

Citra shares the same config file across all versions by default. You can access it from File -> Open Citra Folder on the new version.

You should upload a new log where you are attempting to start the game on 860.
