My citra emulator closes when i play games on it for a short time

When I play pokemon, harvest moon, or other citra games they open and I can play, but after a while, I think 30 minutes, it crashes and closes by itself, no error screen appears and I am using citra - qt.
Would you help me?
because I can’t evolve in any game for fear of losing the progress made midway when the game closes.

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

Change log filter from *:Critical to *:Info then produce the crash again and upload a new log

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from Intel’s website. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/Graphics-Drivers
  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.

I replicated it on Kid Icarus: Uprising yesterday with Intel HD 4000, it’s basically a driver bug:

Build 10.18.10.4425

This driver is outdated, you should update:

Download win64_15.33.48.5069.zip from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28799/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product=65700
direct link: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28799/a08/win64_15.33.48.5069.zip

then follow this guide to install it: https://www.howtogeek.com/343287/how-to-fix-the-driver-being-installed-is-not-validated-for-this-computer-on-intel-computers/

There is not that much you can do right now. If you can, right now it’s a very good time to be building a PC - prices are good(at least in the US).

Hi, I’ve updated to the latest driver version and I’m still experiencing the same issue (I use the Intel HD 4000 as well).

What can I do to fix this? Or is laptop/pc is too old to run Citra now?

Thanks

You cannot fix this, right now the only option for you is to use a better computer. Preferably with Nvidia GPU for best results.

Maybe in the future this crash will be fixed but there is no ETA for it. Prices are great atm for PC parts, like… Ryzen 7 2700X(8 cores, 16 threads) for $160(https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-Processor-Wraith-Cooler/dp/B07B428M7F/), 1TB NVMe SSD for $100(https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-NVMe-PCIe-3-0x4-GP-GSM2NE3100TNTD/dp/B07Z9YBT3T/), 16GB RAM for $50-60 ish, etc
The GTX 1650 Super is a good 1080p card for ~$160, Radeon performs poorly for Citra on Windows unfortunately but if you don’t mind Linux then it’s an option.

[as of December 20, 2019].

Though if you don’t live in the US maybe the prices aren’t so great for you :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit*
You can try turning off Hardware Shader and see if you stop crashing, but it might become slow.

Don’t be panic, you update your Citra to the las version maybe?

DON’T DO IT, just download another old version (from more of 7 days ago) and replace the files into the folder that you have Citra files, works for me and I’m pretty sure that will works for you, This people update stuffs ONLY thinking in those new gen machines…leaving us behind…sorry not sorry.

Can you pin point the exact version when it starts to crash?

https://github.com/citra-emu/citra-nightly/releases

It would help a lot.

nightly-1395
canary-1517
Older versions never crash.
