Ocarina of Time 3D Black Screen

Issue:
I’ve been playing Ocarina of Time 3D Randomizer, and everything went fine. But then I logged off the emulator, then logged back in. It offered me a chance to update from Nightly 1840 to Nightly 1841, and did just that. However, I went to reopen my game, and now it’s all completely black! For absolutely no reason! I have done each and every single suggestion on similar threads, and zero change. I just don’t get it, it worked just fine literally a second ago. I have no idea how this happened. This is so frustrating. Help!

Your log only shows that you have opened then closed Citra; did you accidentally reopen Citra?

Have the log folder open in the background first so you can access the log more easily.

Actually, I just installed the old Nightly 1840 build from GitHub, and now the emulator works fine.

Can you test Nightly 1841 from GitHub as well? Just to double check.

I’m not sure Nightly 1841 works for anyone right now. According to the GitHub site, it says the following on Nightly 1841:

“core\file_sys\archive_sdmc.cpp: Log error message if file failed to open. (#6284)”

Also, I’ve been reading up on others having the same Black Screen issue as me, and some of the causes is due to outdated GPU. I installed the latest version of the GPU from the Intel site, and it still wouldn’t work. But then I installed the Nightly 1840 build, and it fixed the problem. So I’m not sure I need to test Nightly 1841 out.

You should so I can let the devs know. Download from GitHub and test that version.

Okay, I just downloaded the Nightly 1841 from GitHub. Same thing. Black screen occurs once more. Something must be wrong with the Nightly 1841 build. Because Nightly 1840 doesn’t do this at all.

Thanks for testing, will let them know about this.

Update: Nightly 1842 and 1843 also have the exact same problem as Nightly 1841. The black screen issue still occurs. I opened up the “old” Nightly 1841 emulator, and was offered both updates. I updated to both Nightly 1842 and 1843, but the same problem occurs on both builds. Might be something to look into? Especially since only old builds work right now.

We’re aware of the issue. A dev is looking into it.
