I am using a Bluetooth contoller for android and i want to remove the onscreen buttons but i cant find how to remove them i read on an old post to drag down on the screen in game but that dont work that only pulls down my phone notification bar. Any advice on how to remove the onscreen layout

From you saying that when you “pull down it only opens the notification bar” I am assuming you are using the playstore build. If so, its 2 years out of date, you can get the updated version on Github.
