Persona Q2 Problem. frozen screen but sound continues

Issue:
Enter a description of your issue here, in full detail.
I was playing through Persona Q2. Everything was running perfectly fine for hours. but then all of a sudden the game has frozen at 0 / 1 fps and the sound continues on slowly. I save stated here because i will lose alot of progress if i restart now. Restarting seems to work. Is there anyway to unfreeze this save state?

Please check whether the same issue occurs without the use of save states.

I’ve already gone back and recovered lost progress but the same problem happens from time to time. I just make sure to save Constantly now to avoid it as much as possible. I was able to progress beyond that point if thats what you’re asking.

Not specifically. Save state are simply known to become unstable over time. Especially when save state created progress is saved upon save state created progress. Since save states save the entirety of the emulation state, if Citra is not launched and loaded through the in-game save file(s), any faults in the emulation won’t get resolved. This can lead to the freezing you encountered. Hence why I asked whether the issue also occurs without the save states you were using.

I’ve stopped using save states but that didn’t help. slowly as i progress it crashes more and more often. I am now at a point where it keeps crashing midway through a bossfight and its literally impossible to progress in the game.

Is there any solution to this? or should i just give up

All was fine till a sudden fps drop, then the screen froze. the game plays normally but whatever i do the screen remains frozen

This driver is out of date. To update, download and install igfx_win_101.1994.exe from Intel® Graphics – Windows* DCH Drivers
Mirror download: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/732078/igfx_win_101.1994.exe

nope. same exact thing.

so is there nothing i can do then?

Try disabling Hardware Shaders in Emulation>Configuration>Graphics>Advanced Tab.

That doesn’t work either. I am now in the final portion of the game and its unplayable. I cant advance over 5 minutes without a freeze
