Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice: unable to load game with DLC installed

Issue:
When DLC is not installed, I can load the game perfectly using a .3ds rom. However, after installing the DLC using the cia file, the game won’t load. Citra just remains a black screen after starting emulation.

System Information

  • Operating System: ArchLinux

  • CPU: Intel i7-10750H

  • GPU: Intel iGPU

  • Citra Version (found in title bar): master-4817b0084 (2021-09-06)

  • Game: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice

DLC generally require game updates to be installed first. As I don’t own this game, I don’t know whether this holds true here as well, but it wouldn’t hurt to check that out first:
