Pokémon model won't display when activating surf

Issue:
I’m trying to use HD textures with Pokémon Omega Ruby, and whenever I use the HM Surf, the image that’s supposed to pop up of the Pokémon using surf is blank. It’s just the background without a visible Pokémon model.

I tried dumping the regular textures and looking at what all came up when I used surf, and I can tell when surf was triggered because the game makes a low res screenshot as a placeholder, and that was dumped too. I tried removing the textures for the Pokémon that was using surf, I tried adding in its maps because those weren’t included in the texture pack, and I tried removing the background textures and effects too, but even those didn’t help.

The only way I could get the Pokémon to show up again was by completely removing the Misc folder from this texture pack, which just so happens to make up the majority of the pack.

So if anyone, including the original pack author, has any idea which texture in this Misc folder would be causing this issue, I’d appreciate some help.
